Malta Tiles runs a workshop and showroom in Paola, Malta. This page explains what happens to the information you give us through this website. It is written to be read, not to be waded through.
The short version
We collect only what you type into the contact form or the catalogue form. We use it to answer you. We do not run analytics, we do not track you around the internet, and we do not sell or share your details with anyone for marketing.
Who is responsible for your data
Malta Tiles, KKW603A Zona Industrijali ta' Kordin, Paola, Malta, is the data controller. For anything on this page, or to exercise any of the rights below, email [email protected] or call +356 7789 6511.
What we collect, and why
Contact form
Your name, email address, and optionally your phone number, the type of enquiry and your message. We use these to reply to you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us, and where you are asking about buying something, taking steps at your request before entering a contract.
Catalogue download
Your name and email address, plus whether you ticked the box to hear from us. We use these to know who is interested in our work and to follow up. If you ticked the newsletter box, the legal basis for sending you updates is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time by replying to any message we send or emailing us.
Technical information
Our server briefly holds your IP address in memory so it can limit how often the forms can be submitted and how often the catalogue can be downloaded. This is what stops the forms being abused to send mail. It is not written to a database, is not linked to your name, and is discarded within the hour.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies when you browse it, and it uses no analytics or advertising cookies. There is exactly one cookie, and it is only set if you ask for it:
| Cookie | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
catalogue_access | Set when you fill in the catalogue form, so that if you come back you can download it again without filling the form in a second time. It holds a timestamp and a signature, and nothing about you. | One year |
Because it is strictly necessary to provide something you explicitly asked for, and it is used for nothing else, it does not require a consent banner. You can delete it in your browser settings at any time; the only effect is that you will be asked for your details again next time you download the catalogue.
Who else sees your information
We keep the list of third parties deliberately short. As of the date above, it is:
- Our email provider. Form submissions are delivered to our inbox through a third-party email service. Your message passes through their systems in order to reach us.
- Our hosting provider. The server that runs this site processes your request in order to serve the page.
- Image delivery network. Some photographs on this site are served from a third-party image network (a.storyblok.com). Your browser fetches those files directly from it, which means it receives your IP address. It sets no cookies, and we send it nothing about you. Fonts, icons, and everything else are served from this site itself.
We do not sell your data, and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and catalogue requests stay in our email inbox as business correspondence, in the same way a letter or a phone note would. We keep them while they are useful for serving you and for our own records, and remove them when they are not. If you would like your details removed sooner, ask us and we will do it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, object to us processing it, and withdraw any consent you have given. Email [email protected] and we will respond within one month.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you are entitled to complain to the Maltese supervisory authority, the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (idpc.org.mt). We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
